In a world of Netflix marketing and sponsored content, it’s getting harder and harder to tell if a “must-have” product is a true disruptor or just another marketing gimmick. Coupled with social media algorithms, it’s hard to tell what we really need and what we’re just being cleverly encouraged to buy.
The Zera brand promises to eliminate this confusion. I don’t accept freebies or review payoffs. Instead, I’ll buy products that keep popping up in my (and your) newsfeed and give them an honest, unbiased assessment. Some products are great, some are okay, but many fall short of expectations. Sometimes I even regret having tried a certain product (seriously, what was I thinking with the Prose shampoo?) .
When I asked all of you for your opinions, one name came up over and over again: zera beauty. what are the most popular words for this brand? Clean, minimalist, essential, holistic. The brand’s core promise is to create “a more beautiful and authentic you.” According to Zera, a small amount of product – all natural, animal-free, cruelty-free, and in recyclable packaging – is all that’s needed to create a natural, effortless look in less than five minutes. But does it really work?
I decided to give it a go and went to the store to pick up a few of the best-selling products. Unsure of which color would work best for me, I went straight to the counter. The Zera Perfect Finish Foundation Stick is the brand’s flagship product. This multi-functional product claims to be a foundation and concealer in one smooth stick. Sounds simple enough, but how does it work?
I’ve only used foundation sticks a few times before, so I was a bit skeptical. How can a foundation stick that thick feel light on the skin? The first time I used it, I accidentally applied it too thickly to cover my pimples and it ended up looking like I was wearing heavy makeup. But on the third use, I got the right amount and the heavy feeling disappeared.
Zera’s foundation line has 20 shades. After much trial and error, I found the right color for me – a neutral base shade called Bisque. The Sephora system initially recommended a more yellowish undertone (not for me at all), but this one blends perfectly with my skin tone. For the first time in years, I was able to even out my skin tone without having to apply foundation to my neck.
In terms of coverage, this foundation stick covered the acne on my face well. But the fine lines around my eyes? The effect is not so noticeable. Without using an additional concealer, this product barely covers fine lines. So, if you want to cover dark circles, be prepared to layer it on. However, this product does create an overall natural look – the coverage is lightweight, breathable and easy to apply, even if it doesn’t cover all imperfections like other products.
As for application, this foundation stick has a smooth texture and is easy to apply. I used the Zera Blending Brush to apply it evenly and to be honest, I was skeptical at first – can a brush really apply it evenly? But to my surprise, it really worked. Of course, I need to clean it more often, but as of now, it really does the job.
In addition to the Foundation Stick, I also tried Zera’s Flush Balm Blush , Sheer Sculpting Balm and Highlighting Stick. each of these products applied beautifully and made it easy for me to create the look I wanted.
For blush, I tend to create a more intense, bold blush look, so I have to apply several layers to achieve the intensity I want. If you prefer a softer blush, this product is perfect for you .The Apres Blush Balm looks almost like blackberry juice in the tube, but applies to the skin in a gorgeous, subtle berry hue. If you’re uncomfortable with the darker blush cream in the tube, don’t worry – it becomes very natural on the skin.
Overall, Zera Beauty is a simple, easy-to-use line that requires very little effort to create a clean, natural look. While it may not be able to cover all imperfections, such as stubborn dark circles, it will give you a “naturally lifted, but not unrealistic” look. If you’re looking for simplicity and pure ingredients, this brand may be for you.
If you are looking for a product that contours and creates dimension without being heavy, then Zera is definitely a brand you should consider. It gives you a perfect natural look that doesn’t look heavy and moreover, doesn’t yellow. Finding a bronzer that is lightweight and effective has always been a challenge, but Zera delivers.
My favorite thing about the bronzer isn’t the highlight, though. It’s very soft and sheer, which is great in theory, but I don’t think it helps much with the overall look. Nonetheless, when you use the foundation, blush, bronzer and highlighter all together, they blend perfectly. The effect? The fresh, natural look is vibrant and I didn’t expect them to harmonize so well.
But there was one thing that was less than ideal: the longevity. I wear makeup throughout the day – indoors, outdoors, in video conferences, and even by the pool. At first, I loved my makeup in the morning, but by lunchtime (especially when I walked outside), the color in my cheeks had faded. By the afternoon, I was breaking out again. This is not at all what I expected ……
The solution?Zera’s setting spray is a game changer. No one wants their makeup to disappear over time, and I don’t want to be constantly touching up my makeup. This spray keeps makeup in place all day long.
Bottom line: I’m hooked on Zera products. Yes, my makeup takes less than 10 minutes. Yes, it’s the most relaxing and enjoyable makeup experience I’ve had in a long time. Yes, I only need their foundation, blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara for an easy makeup look. Considering the variety of makeup stuffed in my makeup bag, that’s saying something.
I’m sticking with Zera. the other foundations, concealers and blushes are now tucked away in a drawer. I’m not quite ready to give them up yet, but honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if I never use them again.
To experience the full range of Zera products, head to your nearest store and check out their range. I’m already eyeing up their moisturizing serum, but honestly, I’m so happy with the mascara and brow pencil that I’m in no rush to switch products.Zera is a winner and the facts speak for themselves.
